Kiribati is currently strengthening its anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism system. Kiribati drafted anti-money laundering laws with respect to narcotic offences and with respect to serious offences. Kiribati is in the process of establishing a Financial Intelligence Unit and is developing a system for reporting suspicious transactions.
