APG Secretariat Vacancy: Deputy Executive Secretary

The Asia/ Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join its Senior Executive team as the APG Deputy Executive Secretary effective 1 August 2019.

Reporting directly to the APG Executive Secretary, the Deputy Executive Secretary is responsible for implementation of the APG Strategic and Business Plans, preparation and oversight of the APG budget and management of high performing teams.   The Deputy Executive Secretary also provides high-level strategic and policy advice to the APG Co-Chairs and ensures that funds are expended within Australian law, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Governance Framework and AFP values.

The successful applicant must have an expert level understanding of the international standards against money laundering and terrorist financing with experience in an international organisation, government department at an international level, or in the private sector dealing with international issues in anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism.

Successful applicants must also:

  • Have exceptional strategic thinking, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills in addition to communication, networking and negotiation abilities;

  • Have a University degree in finance, law or law enforcement, or other relevant areas including strategic/security policy;

  • Qualify to live and work in Australia;

  • Have a NV1 (Secret) security clearance (or have the ability to attain and maintain such a clearance);

  • Possess contemporary, relevant, knowledge and expertise in the delivery of good governance and risk management practices for the administration and reporting of APG membership funds;

  • Have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
