Malaysia
Malaysia has developed its anti-money laundering system having enacted anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism laws. Malaysia has an established Financial Intelligence Unit and capacity to report suspicious transactions.
Malaysia has undergone an APG Mutual Evaluation. Malaysia’s offshore financial centre, Labuan IOFC, has also undergone an APG Mutual Evaluation. Malaysia (including the Labuan IOFC) underwent its second Mutual Evaluation in February 2007 and the full report was adopted by APG members in July 2007.
Malaysia served as APG Co-chair from 2002 - 2002.
Malaysia became a member of the APG in May 2000.
