APG and ASEAN AML/CFT Regulatory/Supervisory Workshop: 22-24 April 2013, Ku

The workshop is a joint initiative between the APG and ASEAN Secretariats and will be hosted by Bank Negara Malaysia. The purpose of the workshop is to provide comprehensive information on the revised FATF standards and to strengthen the AML/CFT supervisory/regulatory functions for financial institutions (FIs) and designated financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs).

The topics of dicussion will include:

  • the revised FATF standards (2012), including a focus on AML/CFT financial supervision;
  • the risk-based approach;
  • engagement with reporting entities and raising awareness of their AML/CFT obligations;
  • the responsibilities of supervisors (using a practical exercise), some of the monitoring and compliance issues for supervisors and training on preparing for and undertaking on-site supervision.

 This workshop is open to delegates from joint APG/ASEAN member jurisdictions, as well as Mongolia and Timor-Leste. It is designed for AML/CFT supervisors/regulators, policy makers and analysts.
