An APG Workshop on the review of the FATF Recommendations will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 25 to 27 April 2012. Experts from the FATF membership and FATF Secretariat are expected to participate. The workshop will brief the APG membership on the most important changes to the FATF Recommendations and their implications for policy makers and it will be open to all APG members and observers (subject to space).
FATF Special Plenary and Working Group meetings will be held in mid-January 2012 in Paris to finalise changes to the FATF Recommendations prior to the FATF's February 2012 Plenary meeting where the revisions will be formally adopted. Changes to the FATF’s Recommendations remain on track to conclude at the February meeting with the development of a new Assessment Methodology to take another 12 months after that. The first on-site visits in the new mutual evaluation round are expected in late 2013. It is important therefore that APG members are fully aware of the revised Recommendations as soon as possible and are therefore encouraged to participate in this important workshop.
