The Government of Bangladesh will host the 2010 APG Typologies Workshop from 25-28 October 2010 in Dhaka.
The 4-day APG Typologies Workshop, to be organised by Bangladesh Bank, will involve experts from across the Asia/Pacific region to discuss vulnerabilities, methods and trends in money laundering and terrorist financing. The details of the agenda are currently being planned and will focus on legal, law enforcement and regulatory issues. The 4th day will involve workshops with the private sector. The outcomes of this workshop will support and build on current and on-going project work in these areas.
The APG's Strategic Typologies Framework provides a mechanism for the collection, analysis and dissemination of typologies information for the benefit of members and the general public including the establishment of an Annual Workshop. Each year the Workshop brings together law enforcement experts and regulatory authorities in order to exchange information on significant cases and operations. It also provides a vital opportunity for operational experts to identify and describe effective AML/CFT counter-measures. As this important workshop draws closer further information will be posted and distributed to potential attendees.
Officials from APG members and observers interested in attending this workshop should contact their heads of delegation in the first instance or the APG Secretariat for information.
Canada's Counter Terrorism Capacity Building Programme will provide financial support for this event.
