The APG will be holding its Annual Typologies Workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 27 to 29 October 2008. A number of issues will be discussed at the workshop including:
- Overview of global typologies work;
- Casino and gaming issues in relation to money laundering and terrorist financing;
- Proceeds of crime investigations and prosecutions;
- Money laundering vulnerabilities in the securities sector; and
- Corruption and AML/CFT issues in relation to FIUs and specialist anti-corruption agencies.
The APG's Strategic Typologies Framework provides a mechanism for the collection, analysis and dissemination of typologies information for the benefit of members and the general public including the establishment of an Annual Workshop. Each year the Workshop brings together law enforcement experts and regulatory authorities in order to exchange information on significant cases and operations. It also provides a vital opportunity for operational experts to identify and describe effective AML/CFT counter-measures.
