At the APG's first Annual Meeting in Tokyo, Japan (March 1998) the membership established two Co-Chairs:
The current Co-Chairs are Commissioner Tony Negus (Australia) and Mr Ong Hian Sun (Singapore). Their resumes are as follows:
Commissioner Tony Negus (Australia) - appointed 2009
Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Tony Negus was appointed to his role by the Prime Minister of Australia in September 2009. As Commissioner, he also assumes the permanent APG Co-Chair role on behalf of Australia pursuant to the APG Terms of Reference.
Commissioner Negus has been with the AFP for 27 years, working in community policing, federal investigations, human resources, training and protection. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Executive Leadership. He has also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Commissioner Tony Negus was awarded the Australian Police Medal in June 2005.
Mr Ong Hian Sun LLM (Singapore): 2008 - 2010
Mr Ong Hian Sun is an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He joined the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) of Singapore in September 1989 and began his legal career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor. From September 1989 until February 2008, he held various positions as Senior State Counsel dealing with the prosecutions in the High Court for capital and non-capital offences and overseeing the conduct of prosecution of the Corruption and Specialist Crimes Directorate as well as the Financial & Securities Offences Directorate of the Criminal Justice Division in the AGC. In June 2008, he was appointed as the Director of the Commercial Affairs Department which is the key investigation agency in Singapore involved in combating commercial crime, money laundering and financing of terrorism.
Mr Ong Hian Sun obtained his LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and his LLM from the University of London. Mr Ong Hian Sun formally assumed his appointment on 11 July 2008 at the APG's 11th Annual Meeting in Bali, Indonesia. His term is for two years (July 2008 to July 2010).

India was unanimously endorsed at the 12th Annual Meeting of the APG as the next Co-Chair for 2010-2012. As incoming Co-Chair, India is part of the APG Steering Group. India will host the Annual Meeting in 2011.
